Cofutura is a strategic foresight consultancy working with people to look at, and engage with, the futures differently.
Let's work today towards building a better tomorrow for everyone, together.
Our team is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas but we have worked locally and internationally with organizations large and small.
Maria Crabtree is the Director of Strategic Foresight Projects at KnowledgeWorks, a leading nonprofit in the education space. Recent experiences as lead researcher and co-facilitator include NASA's Langley Research Center, Kimberly Clark, and Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. Maria is a coauthor and coeditor of the books Beyond Genuine Stupidity and The Future Reinvented. She is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and a recipient of the 2020 Emerald Literati Award.
Academically trained in sociology, communications, and foresight, but with a special place in her heart, mind, and skills for design, Maria is always looking for ways to fuse her passions, like the development of graphic tools for the Framework Foresight method and scanning process used today in the University of Houston Master in Foresight program, her alma mater. If you would like to get the scoop of her bio in Spanish, don’t hesitate to contact her para que ella misma te eche el cuento como es.
Jason Crabtree served as resident futurist within the Strategic Foresight Group at the U.S. Forest Service Northern Research Station in partnership with the University of Minnesota - St. Paul. With that team he coauthored publications for Journal of Forestry, Landscape and Urban Planning, Futures, and World Futures Review. Prior to joining the public sector, Jason was foresight project manager at Disney Parks & Resorts in Orlando. He holds a Master of Foresight from the University of Houston.
Through foresight Jason has found multiple avenues to pursue his personal passions. He satisfies his curiosity about what could be next for our society with each alternative scenario workshop or horizon scanning project. The opportunity to codevelop a strategic foresight serious game, IMPACT: Forestry Edition, let him indulge his enthusiasm for tabletop games. But more than anything, every collaboration with a public lands agency allows him to put his love of the outdoors to work.
